What We Do

PCR

PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) is a valuable molecular technique performed in a high complexity laboratory often used to accurately analyze pathogens’ genetic material. As a modern molecular biology lab, SR Scientific utilizes Real-Time PCR testing for pathogen identification as well as for the quantification and detection of bacteria, viruses, and antibiotic resistance. PCR testing is 3-5 times more sensitive than conventional culture techniques and allows SR Scientific to report accurate results for both pathogen identification and antibiotic resistance quickly

Why PCR?

  • The PCR test can take as little as 24-48 hours and is 99.8% accurate.
  • The panel can be modified to test for dozens of pathogens
  • Because PCR reveals antibiotic resistance, you can provide personalized treatment to every patient.
